Get to know me
I always enjoyed the process of improvement in sport. As an athlete, I pushed for stronger performances, faster reactions, and more precision. Naturally, I pursued individual sports where it was just myself and a set of movements; martial arts, skateboarding, swimming, and rock climbing all scratched this itch.
When injuries stacked up, I needed a new source for the joy I had felt while competing. Coaching was a natural next step, and I enjoyed how the knowledge I had accumulated as an athlete could help a young person expand their potential. I also found new avenues for growth in less traditionally competitive hobbies: painting, trading card games, tabletop wargames, D & D, and e-sports provided immense enjoyment and continue to help me connect with young people in my work.
I learned that my own potential extends beyond my athletic ability and that a fuller experience of life comes from leaning into one’s quirks, curiosities, and finding community. As a coach, I noticed how being present, coupled with micro-adjustments, could compound into greater enjoyment and performance. As a therapist, I combine this approach with clinical strategies that can help adults, children, and teens, move towards their goals, while building a well-rounded, joyful approach to life.
